Good Morning Valucre!
That's right, update these things in the weee hours of the early morning, after having worked most of a night shift, and usually between going on to my next shift. If you ever wonder why these might seem a little bit off, hey you put the blog into the hands of someone who is chronically sleep deprived! Blame none but yourselves. =P
So, What's Happening Valucre?
Hummingbird is Back, and Genesaris Has Some New Assistance- So, after a brief respite, the board leader of Genesaris has made her return. In more news, because of the increasing work load and increasing IRL considerations, she has asked me to step in and help out with the day to day workings of the board. What does that mean? Well, I am going to help keep things running, handling questions, divvying out lands/cities, running events, and acting as the janitor. If you got questions or technical issues, you can come fill my PM box or hit me on Y! If you have lore related stuff, the same thing, or you can go directly to the Empress of Penguins herself.
There is Villainy Afoot- We have a couple different people putting out feelers for potential villain groups, with an emphasis on the chaotic evil sort of villainy. If you want to be a part of something perhaps without emphasis on the organized crime sorts of things, you can check out altuzarra's thread or the one by Teddy-Son. It sounds like the latter is a bit more focused on Imperialism, but you can get the details from their threads. :) And as always, if you want a more organized take, check out OIC or The Dead.
A Caper of Talismans- OIC is at it again, seeking to take all your talismans and make them are belong to us, and has given notice of this intent. If you always wanted one for yourself, you got a couple of options- join the cause, or do whatever you can to thwart the efforts. Check it out here, Praetorian is heading it up.

Other Highlights?
Alright, since I am always such a giving person, I'll toss a couple new things your way.
Experience- Experience and Valbullion are interchangeable, but if you want to keep track of your earnings, as well as your activity levels, you can go up to the community tab, where the second option is experience. This will show you who has most recently earned some experience, give you your activity levels, and let you look at some board statistics. You can also check out where you stand in comparrison to others, through the ranking tab. If you just want to know how much you have made recently, you can look that up inside your profile, under the Experience Tab (inside the profile!).
Submit to the Weekly Blog- That's right, our awesome administrator has made a submit form for this blog. Do you want to see something listed under what's going on, or would really like to have a feature highlighted? Maybe you have a good closing thought you would like for me to cover- hey, submit it through, and I will do my best to accommodate reasonable submissions. I cannot promise to use anything and everything (no spam threads please 0_o ) but I shoot for a minimum of three highlights, but will go to five or six should some good stuff come in. :)
Closing Thoughts?
A really good discussion on T-1 powers cropped up when someone queried about a possibly established system for gravity magic- of which there currently is not any. The whole thread has had some really great kernels of information passed on by some of our experienced folk, and I highly advise going through and giving it a read, especially if you are less experienced with T-1. However, the closing thought I was going to touch on is this:
There are a few important things to keep in mind when developing powers for T-1:
1. Make sure you understand it. The easiest people to beat in a game of logic are those who are playing unarmed. If you are trying to use skills/abilities/powers that you can't understand, you are going to be easily countered or refuted- its hard to get another to accept your attack when you aren't sure of why they should yourself.
2. Depth and complexity can enrich potentials and possibilities, but something to complex gets crushed under its own weight. Find the happy medium- have abilities you can use easily and have flexibility, so that way you are not always relying on using heavily charged powers that might not work out. If you spend an hour trying to string together a dissertation for your closing attack, you might get pummeled away by the person using something simpler but powerful and efficient. Its fun to get into some complexity, but don't let it weigh you down.
3. HAVE FUN! Some people really lose sight of this. A good T-1 fight should be fun to write and fun to read. If you are looking forward to the next post, or have people who are enthralled with your match, you are doing something right. Enjoy the fight, produce good writing, and entertain! :)
That's what I got this week, seeya!

Originality is not seen in single words or even in sentences. Originality is the sum total of a man's thinking or his writing.
